Three rows of pink characters holding up letters that spell out 'full circle arts'This week Mari has been out visiting arts organisations and venues to make some key contacts within them. She’s been at CUBE gathering information including details to update the accessible venues guide.

Mari says,

This week, I’ve met up with the lovely people at CUBE and am just en route to meet the guys from BlankMedia in their great new home at BlankSpace. I missed out on attending the preview for their latest exhibition last night, so am looking forward to popping in this afternoon for a chat and a good look around. Up and coming visits include Fab Lab, the Chapman Gallery and Manchester City Gallery. After that, it could be YOUR arts venue. If you haven’t heard from me yet, you probably will do in the next few weeks.

Last night, instead of going to the Freedom From Selection preview at Blank, most of the FCA team attended the Future Artists event at Cornerhouse – ‘Social networks, convergence culture and the power of the Co-op’. It was a really nice opportunity to find out what the co-op is all about and what they can offer to individuals/organisations in the arts. We really like their emphasis on community, communication, collaboration and cooperation, and are looking forward to seeing how things develop with them over time.”

The next Future Artists meet up is on 26th March @ Zion Arts Centre

and

Freedom From Selection @ BlankSpace runs 25th Feb. – 6th March.

Artist Development Programme – Source Young Artist

Planning For our next SYA Programme is now well under way. We now would like to hear from artists 18-30 years old who are interested in taking part in this programme.

Source Young Artists is a twelve-month intensive development service for young disabled people with a keen interest and commitment in pursuing further arts participation. Whether it is in training, education or moving towards a career in the arts, the service aims to increase young people’s knowledge, skills, networks and experience in the arts to help them follow their ambitions.”

The project is planned to start in May and time is flying by, so get in contact!
