A Continued winter saga.
Following our mini newsletter last week, here is our latest update on our winter office saga.
Some staff are able to get into the office, and although we have electricity to computers and lights we currently have no heating.
Jade has been very brave and been doing the job of impersonating the polar bear stood on the glacier mint, but it is so cold the office is unusable, and I have told her to go home to thaw out.
Therefore until we either get our heating fixed or the weather warms up all staff will be working from home:-
Work will continue as normal, but making more use of the internet and remote working/ file sharing.
Meetings will go ahead, but at different venues if they were planned to be held in our offices.
You can make sure staff can get your e-mails at home by e-mailing:-
Chris = email@example.com
Jade = firstname.lastname@example.org
Vicki = email@example.com
Kathryn = firstname.lastname@example.org
You can reach staff on their mobiles, and messages left on our answer phone will be retrieved daily.
Apart from those who had arranged to have meetings in our office or make use of our computer or research facilities, use of technology means this should not cause any inconvenience. Please be assured we are doing our best to fix the situation in both climatic and financial hard times. We thank you for bearing with us, in not the best of starts to 2010.
