AIM – Arts In Motion

November 6, 2009

AIM – Arts In Motion was a project designed, managed and facilitated by those who had committed to Full circle Arts Source Young Artist scheme, a twelve month intensive development opportunity for disabled people between the ages of 18 and 30. AIM took place over two days in August 2009 at the Zion Arts Centre in Manchester. AIM – Arts In Motion – arrived from the idea of an arts relay, the passing of an art form onto another to encourage the development of characters, themes and stories. Damien Hayward worked with Photography, Paul McDowell on Creative writing, Peter Pamphlett and Janet Charlesworth on Drama and Helen Bridge on Dance.

Since the completion of AIM, Damien Hayward a participant on the Source Young Artist Project worked along side Karren Morris, a freelance editor, to produce a short documentation of the project. You can view the film here:

The twelve month scheme of SYA included intensive development, meetings, mentoring, professional development, training, workshops, arts award and a great deal of commitment and independent study. The group put all their knowledge, experience, training, and skill into practice during the planning and delivery of ‘AIM’ and are continuing to work towards achieving their Silver Arts Award in December and are supporting Full Circle Arts to evaluate the entire twelve months of the Source Young Artists scheme.

Full Circle Arts and the SYA Team would like to thank the following individuals/organisations who contributed to either training, development workshops, mentoring, venue, work experience or additional arts experience.
